Finance Business Partner

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to provide insight to the Senior Stakeholders across the business in the support of delivering Hastings’ retail trading and commercial outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker who supports operational and tactical decision making by collaborating with stakeholders on budget setting, business cases, day to day activity, whilst supporting proposals and offering financial insight.

We’re flexible on location, this can be based fully remote at home or in any of our offices in Bexhill, Leicester or London – Cannon Street.

About the role:

  • Leading the Retail Trading budgeting and forecasting process. Managing stakeholders to deliver outputs to Finance and overseeing financial modelling outputs, supporting Commercial teams to set suitably stretching plans
  • Lead and support the expense budgeting and forecasting process for assigned business areas
  • Accountable for ensuring assigned business areas are delivering income and expenses in line with Group three-year plan, clearly articulating and providing insight on any variances
  • Act as a Business Partner and trusted advisor to Executive members and their Leadership teams, ensuring Finance engagement and oversight of key Commercial decision-making
  • Collaborate with the business on creation of business cases and associated financial models, ensuring benefits are clearly articulated, rationalised and are appropriately tracked once approved
  • Challenge assumptions of proposals put forward by the business to strive for maximum value and impact from delivery teams
  • Lead and support financial model creation to aid strategic decision making and project appraisal
  • Line Management of Modelling Accountant and Graduate Accountant responsible for modelling

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in delivery roles within Financial Modelling teams
  • Commercial acumen and ability to articulate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders
  • Proven ability to analyse numerical data with excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Exposure and ability to build strong relationships with Senior Stakeholders and supporting colleagues at Exec level
  • Experience of leadership and supporting a team in financial planning and budgeting
