A little more about the role: As the Deputy programme leader, you will assist the programme manager in leading, delivery and development of the International Foundation Programme. Part of this role will include contributing to face to face teaching on the pathway (EAP, ADM, Applied Science, Business, Computing, Engineering and Humanities). Students study subject specific modules alongside English, academic skills, and professional development planning to help prepare them to join undergraduate study at the main campus. What you’ll get up to:
Oversee the Pathway programme and delivery of modules within the IFP at the Pathway College. Provide day-to-day support to staff, including line management, responding promptly to all queries and being available during work hours. Coordinate and supervise administration tasks as delegated by the programme lead and the senior management team. As part of the teaching role, you will be expected to complete the associated teaching tasks as well as administration duties including registers, student feedback, progress monitoring, sponsor reports, etc.
What you’ll bring to the team: Please see the attached job description for the Deputy Programme Lead role at Pathway College. It is essential that you have leadership experience which demonstrates the management of staff, ideally this should be over a prolonged period of time. Ideally you would have worked with international students at level 3 and be willing to teach a foundation subject, with a strong interest in the development and transition of learners into level 4. Your teaching experience must align with one of the pathway routes.
A little more about us: QA Higher Education works in partnership with Northumbria University to manage and deliver an International Foundation Programme (IFP), an International Medical Foundation Programme, an International Year One in Business and Pre Masters-Programmes in Business, Engineering and Computing. Successful completion of the IFP programmes allows entry onto a range of undergraduate programmes at the University. The International Year One allows entry into level 5. Pre Masters into a range of level 7 programmes.
