Deputy Editor – is looking for a Deputy Editor. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in our newsroom.

The ideal candidate will have a strong and proven track record in journalism producing exclusives for national papers.

Reporting to the Editor, you will be full of ideas for agenda-setting stories and instinctively know how to drive the key stories forwards.

You will have newsdesk experience on a national title, agency, or a busy daily regional title and have strong organisational and people skills.

What will the role involve?

  • Work with the news desk and reporters to generate traffic-driving ideas and exclusive stories
  • Help lead our team of reporters to cover the stories that matter – from the news agenda and sport to long investigative features and human interest tales
  • Find and develop stories that will appeal to Buzz readers
  • Play a key role in a major national news desk
  • Be willing to work evenings, weekends and overnight shifts when required
  • Edit and manage copy to tight deadlines ensuring accuracy
  • This role includes weekend working, this will typically involve 1 weekend in every 4
