About the area you’ll be working in…

Do you want to be part of our long-term plans? As the Data Insight Manager, you will be an integral part of Bupa Actuary team, providing front-line support to our Technical Chief Actuary. You will business partner with a variety of senior stakeholders across Bupa Pricing, Finance and Health teams.

What you’ll be doing…

You will own the overall data process to support Bupa Actuary department. You will manage a Data Analyst and lead project teams as required. You will be required to work in our Staines office 2 days per week.

What’s a typical day?

  • Developing the overall data process required to support the actuarial function activities (incl Reserving, Planning, Pricing and Reporting).

  • Developing associated SAS/SQL codes.

  • Identifying trends in our insurance data using a range of statistical models and software (e.g. SAS, R, Python).

  • Communicating insights to the wider business to drive strategy

  • Presenting data using appropriate visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau)

Who we’re looking for?

  • Strong mathematical/analytical skills.

  • Experience in building or managing the end-to-end data process in previous roles.

  • Experience in a range of software. (SAS, SQL, R, Python, PowerBI, Tableau

  • Experience in data science and machine learning techniques.

  • A track record of achieving and exceeding productivity and quality targets.

  • Good interpersonal, communication and analytical skills are required with emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes in an efficient manner.
