Life in Customer Service
Becoming a Bupa Customer Service Adviser means using your judgement to make decisions that matter. We believe in delivering exceptional service to our customers and working to a high professional standard. Within this role you’ll need to be able to provide this level of service whether it’s the first call or the last.
Your day-to-day will involve taking calls from our members and providing outstanding customer service, whilst helping customers get the best from their insurance policy, using your judgement to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
This is an office-based role, however, our people have been working from home temporarily during the pandemic where they have home broadband and a quiet, private place to work. If you do not have the ability to work from home we can arrange for you to work safely from our state-of-the-art Salford Quays office. We have the support in place for your induction and in-role learning to make sure you have everything you need.
Right from the start, we’ll support your success. You’ll receive comprehensive induction training and have ongoing access to learning and development programmes to support your growth.
- Bupa offers flexible working across a shift system that operates from 8a.m. to 8p.m. weekdays, and 8am to 4pm on Saturdays.
- You’ll only work one Saturday in four, and you get a day off in the week in exchange for a Saturday working.
- Our Salford Quays office is a purpose-built facility which has been specially designed for modern, flexible ways of working.
- There is free parking available and the tram stop is right outside our front door.
- You’ll be entitled to 25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays) and the opportunity to buy and sell extra holidays, discounts across various retailers, a competitive salary and pension scheme and free Bupa healthcare and a heath assessment.
Who we’re looking for?
We all come from a variety of backgrounds, including retail, pub management and customer services. So, if you love helping people, then we welcome applicants from all professions and will be able to support your growth or shape a new career path.
In the Customer Service Team, you will be doing more than just answering calls; you will be making a difference to someone’s life. You’ll need a mix of empathy, resilience and flexibility as you may go from helping someone with a sprained ankle to someone with a life-threatening illness. It can be emotionally challenging, and always requires attention to detail, however, it is also hugely rewarding. Confidence using a PC is essential as we have a range of tools and systems designed to aid you whilst you are talking on the phone to customers.
Bupa is committed to making sure that every applicant is assessed solely on the basis of personal merit and qualifications, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, pregnancy or maternity, marital or civil partner status, gender reassignment, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, disability or age.
Whether you’ve found your feet or are discovering a new path. Bupa is a place that celebrates you. This isn’t where you’ve been. This is where you’re going. This is what we have belief in.
