Reporting to the Commercial Lead, you will provide quality commercial support to all areas of our business. You will be responsible for delivering support to the central Legal and Commercial Team and across all of Telent’s business units, providing pragmatic and value add commercial support from the bid stage and throughout the contract lifecycle. You will support negotiation of bids and contracts in accordance with Telent’s governance structure, take ownership for the daily management of Telent’s order acceptance process and have the opportunity to be involved with negotiation of bids, contracts, and subcontracts. 

What you’ll do:

  • Coordination of the signature process with customers for Non-Disclosure Agreements and other contractual documents. 
  • Ownership and daily management of the purchase orders acceptance process into the business, including liaising with sales and delivery teams to solve problems and ensure correct commercial processes are followed. 
  • Working under the supervision of other members of the Legal and Commercial team to review bids and/or contracts, to discuss and advise on the appropriate commercial structure of the deal/issue and to negotiate and draft contracts and correspondence with customers. 
  • Work with the central commercial team to support the implementation of strategies of each business unit alongside Telent’s values.
  • Working within the Legal and Commercial team and closely with the businesses to develop an understanding of the commercial approach of Telent, its customers and suppliers. 
  • Working with the central commercial team to implement the strategies of Telent’s Transport and Network Services business units. 
  • Providing commercial support to all areas of Telent’s business. 
  • Understanding and identifying the different types of risk. 
  • Responsibility for managing Telent’s central contract database, the secure storage of all hard copy contracts and liaising with the Company.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience providing commercial support in a similar industry.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Good understanding of commercial risks and issues with proven contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications; including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Customer facing experience with good communication skills.
