Account Manager

The Airspace Change Organising Group (ACOG) has been set up as part of the UK’s Airspace Modernisation Strategy (AMS) to coordinate and support the delivery of transformational airspace change across the UK.

ACOG’s main purpose is to coordinate the implementation of a major airspace change programme which forms part of the Airspace Modernisation Strategy – known as the Future Airspace Strategy Implementation (FASI) programme.

Job Purpose
The ACOG Account Manager will lead managing their respective cluster, integrating the individual ACP projects of the participant airports and others within the industry.
This programme will reflect ACOG’s own internal delivery activities, including the production of the Masterplan documents needed to progress the programme and comply with the regulatory framework for airspace modernisation.

Duties include

  • Accountable for creation of a coherent and implementable deployment plan for necessary airspace changes for your respective area of responsibility. Meeting the regulatory requirements of the Masterplan
  • Accountable for creating and maintaining a portfolio of inter-dependent project schedules to manage delivery at programme level
  • Responsible for planning, creating and maintaining the project schedules within the ACOG portfolio
  • Responsible for collecting, correlating and evaluating progress data, and providing accurate and timely reporting on the health of the programme and its constituent sponsor projects in line with the ACOG governance framework, ensuring the Head of Programmes has visibility of Programme status, progress and performance
  • Identify key assumptions and risk of individual ACP and collectively within the cluster. Responsible for managing the risks. Identify and implement risk mitigation to support the programme remaining on the desired timeline
  • Identify Programme risks and assess from a technical and schedule perspective to ensure they are managed in line with ACOG processes
  • Accountable for developing and maintaining effective working relationships with change sponsor project teams
  • Liaise with industry stakeholders to understand the constraints and dependencies which may affect the delivery of the programme and resolve issues
  • Chair formal progress reviews and stakeholder engagement meetings

Essential skills and experience

  • Qualified by experience/ or equivalent qualification supported by Professional Qualifications in Project Management
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to resolve conflicts between various stakeholder groups as they arise
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across the industry in support of ACOG programme objectives
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Experience in agile

This position can be performed from either our Whiteley or London Offices
