Join a specialist team responsible for supporting compliance, consistency, and high standards across DVSA’s enforcement activities. Working closely with operational colleagues and a wide range of stakeholders, the team provides expert advice, oversight, and assurance to help protect road safety and ensure regulatory requirements are applied fairly and effectively. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that has a direct impact on public confidence, industry compliance, and the delivery of DVSA’s strategic objectives.

 

Join the Remote Enforcement Office (REO) and play a key role in supporting DVSA’s enforcement strategy across Great Britain. Leading a team of Compliance Support Officers and Examiners, you will drive performance, develop capability, and ensure the delivery of a high-quality, consistent service. Working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, you’ll make informed decisions, provide expert guidance, and contribute to road safety and regulatory compliance through effective enforcement and operator oversight.

 

Top Responsibilities

  • Working collaboratively with the REO management team, wider business and external stakeholders.
  • Engage with all team members to ensure that all staff are working as a team and are engaged with the wider business.
  • Execute management responsibilities effectively and in line with DVSA policies and processes; working with, leading and acting as a role model for team members and colleagues.
  • Determine and plan the team requirements, including allocating resources and prioritising.
  • Review casework and endorse recommendations, ensuring quality and consistency throughout the teams.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

  • Experience delivering quality casework and managing investigations, with a strong focus on providing an excellent service and achieving consistent outcomes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide clear feedback, guidance, and professional support to colleagues and partners.
  • Knowledge of DVSA roadside enforcement activities, operator regulatory frameworks, and confidence using Microsoft applications and operational systems to support decision-making.

Required Qualification/Professional Memberships

  • Have vocational related qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair at level 3 or IMI ATA registration at diagnostic technician level or IRTEC registration at advanced technician level or Engtech registration

    OR

  • National C.P.C. in Road Operations or City & Guilds Level 2 Tachographs or equivalent
