The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is seeking a Third Party Security Analyst to join their team. Information Security is the practice of assuring the security, confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, assets, technology, people, systems and services throughout the MCA and its suppliers.
The role of the Information Security team is to contribute to and influence the Information Security strategy and function through internal consultation, evaluation, and assessment. The team promotes security best practice and ensures that information security requirements are fully considered and implemented as part of the design throughout projects and operational processes.
As a Third Party Security Analyst, you will sit within the Protective Security team, contributing to safeguarding MCA information and assets by supporting identification, assessment, communication, and escalation of third-party risks. You will work across MCA to ensure suppliers comply with Secure by Design principles, and support identification, assessment, and management of supply chain risk, strengthening the Information Security team’s responsibilities and maintaining a resilient security posture across all supplier engagements and related processes key.
Top Responsibilities
- Collaborating with Procurement colleagues to ensure proportionate security assessments are conducted for all suppliers participating in tender processes, aligned to the criticality of the services provided.
- Being able to interpret third‑party security risks and communicate clearly and proportionately with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Identifying and escalate third-party security risks where suppliers are unable to demonstrate an appropriate security posture, in line with organisational risk appetite.
- Working with Protective Security, Contract Management and Procurement colleagues to assist the implementation of ongoing supplier reviews, and where necessary, supporting the development and implementation of proportionate remediation plans, to improve mitigate risks across the supply chain.
- Engaging with teams across the MCA to understand the existing supplier base, identifying critical suppliers for onboarding to the MCA’s Third-Party Risk Management tool.

About You
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:
- Demonstrates the ability to apply security principles and practices in assessing third-party security risks to support the effective onboarding and continuous monitoring of third parties, including the recommendation of risk mitigation controls.
- Ability to communicate third-party security risks effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear, evidence-based manner.
- Able to demonstrate the use threat and risk information to inform third-party risk management and governance activities and responses.
- Building relationships and influencing stakeholders, working collaboratively and inclusively, sharing information and knowledge to achieve shared outcomes.
