Salary up to £32,561 (plus a £2,000 South East Allowance per annum for individuals based at Culham) plus a generous benefits package

Based at Culham, Oxfordshire or Calder Bridge, Cumbria (hybrid working). This role will require travel to our other sites on a regular basis

Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. We’re looking for an Exercise Advisor to provide specialist advice and support on the planning and delivery of our rolling programme of nationwide Counter Terrorism (CT) exercises. You’ll lead on the design and implementation of exercise scenarios that are relevant to our CNC mission and the current National Threat Assessment levels; supervising throughout and analysing the performance of exercises to make recommendations for future exercises.

The role will also involve:

  • Ensuring all records are maintained, regular reporting and compliance with the Government Security Classifications.
  • Provide advice in relation to policies, procedures and the exercise strategy.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate records of all exercises, to supervise the drafting of the final exercise report (PXR) and to provide regular reporting to the Exercise Manager or others.
  • Working with key stakeholders on scenario development and exercise delivery.

     

  • Supporting the wider mission of the Exercise and Resilience Team.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience :

  • Ideally experienced with emergency planning and understand risk management principles. Prior experience or knowledge of the police service and the nuclear industry would be of benefit
  • Excellent planning and recording skills to ensure the smooth running of exercises.
  • Able to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to be discreet and deal with sensitive information
  • This role will require travel to our other sites on a regular basis
