The Governing Body of Canterbury Christ Church University is responsible for determining the educational character and mission of the University and has oversight of its activities. We are currently recruiting to various roles on the Board, commencing 1 August 2026. All appointments shall be for an initial term of office of four years.
The University wishes to encourage expressions of interest in joining the Governing Body, and would particularly welcome applications from women, Black, Asian, and other minority ethnic candidates to enhance the Board’s diversity. We would also welcome expressions of interest from members of the Church of England in view of our Anglican Foundation status. Applications are accepted from candidates in Kent and Medway, and further afield.
Canterbury Christ Church University is a dynamic and friendly university with over 30,000 students, over 1,500 staff, and an effective Governing Body consisting of 18 members. The Sunday Times Good University Guide has revealed the University is in the top 10 in the UK for teaching quality and student experience. The University has an exciting future ahead in line with its strategy Vision 2030. Following a period of significant growth and diversification, the University will now be looking to expand its postgraduate provision as well as its online offering.
